21!

I know, I took a huge break from blogging. But I feel like summer is a great time to pick it back up! This past Tuesday was my 21st birthday, and it was awesome! I went out to a few places in town with some great friends and we all had a fab time.

I got 2 drinks on the house, a crown made out of paper straw wrappers, a drink named after me (The Kate) and some creepy guys' business card. I would say that the night was very successful.

Here are a few pics that my friend Beth took that night...

He's Just Not That Into You

I have been itching to see "He's Just Not That Into You" ever since I heard a rumor they were making it into a movie. The book, which was written by the writers of Sex and The City, came out a few years ago. I heard about it on Opera and thought it sounded amazing. I've never read it, but I have been close to purchasing it several times. I think I will definitely read it now.

Anyway, Daniel took me to see it this past weekend. (I know, he's amazing. It was even his idea to go!) I highly recommend it. I thought it was super cute - a great mix of funny and sentimental; not to mention a stellar cast. I can't wait to see it again :)

Here's the trailer:

Survey Time!

I live: in a few places, depending on the time of year. Right now - Cleveland, TN.

I work: nowhere, but am currently applying anywhere that will let me fill out an application.

I smell: my shampoo.

I listen: to the radio mostly.

I hide: the good food I buy so that no one else in my apartment will steal it.

I walk: with my legs.

I write: all the time - taking notes in class, doing homework, constantly making to-do lists.

I see: my kitchen and one of my roommates.

I sing: really loudly in the car.

I can: make any statement into "that's what she said."

I watch: people. I don't have TV at school, so that's about the best kind of "watching" entertainment around.

I daydream: too much for my own good. All the time - in class, when I'm getting ready in the morning, driving...

I want: to graduate from college soon. I'm ready to move on.

I cry: whenever I feel the need to. I hate repressing tears.

I dream: every night and usually remember them, too.

I read: fun books all the time. (Not the kind Kelli reads - those scare me!)

I love: the sound my mini-fridge makes. It's so cute! Every once in a while it makes a little "boing" noise.

I rode: a bike one time. Awful experience.

I sometimes: talk to myself in the mirror to see how I look to other people.

I fear: having someone break into my house.

I hope: Daniel gets here soon to pick me up because I'm really bored.

I eat: not enough fruits and vegetables, but I'm working on it.

I drink: water and coffee. No more soda.

I play: with my phone when I get bored in class.

I miss: all of my family and my best friends.

I forgive: people who ask for it.

I lost: my nose ring, so the hole closed up. But I really want it back! Maybe over the summer...

I drive: a Honda Civic.

I kiss: Daniel.

I hug: my family and friends.

I have: a huge extended family and I love it.

I remember: going to Disneyland every year. Those were good times.

I don't: like when people misuse grammar.

I believe: that everything happens for a reason.

I owe: campus safety like $30 for a stupid parking ticket.

I know: what you did last summer.

I hate: when people drive the wrong way down the parking lot aisles.

I wish: I had the passion to work out all the time.

I wear: flip-flops all year round.

Maybe I should: do some homework.

People would say that I'm: not as shy as I seem at first.

I don't understand: how people can do horrible things to other people.

My past is: what makes me who I am today.

I get annoyed when: people whistle.

Parties are: much more fun when you know most of the people there.

Tomorrow: is my busiest day of the week.

Never in my life have I: ridden the bus to school.

When I was younger I: changed myself depending on who I was hanging out with.

When I'm nervous: I get shooting pains through my hands and I have to pee.

My life is not complete w/out: my loved ones.

If you visit my hometown: make sure you go to the Daily Grind for a Snickers Latte.

The world could do w/out: sharks and bugs.

If I ever go back to school: ummm, I'm hoping this is the last of it.

And, by the way: I get nervous when people ask me to explain my major to them. Sometimes I feel like I don't even know what I'm doing.

I am a happy girl.

I go home in less than a week for Thanksgiving break! AND, Daniel is coming home with me! I really can't wait.

One of my best friends is making taco salad for a few of us for dinner tonight.

My nails are really long and beautiful. (I promise I'm not being cocky - they really never get this way.)

I am in love.

I have room check this afternoon, so my apartment will be spotless in a few hours. (Even if it is against my will.)

There is a Christmas tree up in our lobby.

I just bought some Pantene Pro-V shampoo and conditioner the other day, and even though my hairdresser begs me not to use it, I am so excited about it and can't stop making people smell my hair.

There are 11 days of school left in this semester.

Happy Halloween!

Happy Halloween to everybody! I hope you're all dressing up and being as crazy as Kelli. Haha

I'm really excited for tonight - I'm going to a party at my friend Cate's house, who graduated from Lee last semester. Then a group of my friends and I are heading over to Applebee's for half-priced appetizers late tonight. Yes, half-priced appetizers are a huge deal for poor, struggling college students...

I'll definitely be taking tons of pictures and posting them in the next few days. I started thinking about my Halloween last year, and I realized that time is flying by way too fast! It feels like it was just a few months ago or something. A few of my girlfriends and I went trick-or-treating in one of the guys' dorms on campus, which was so much fun! They were pretty much willing to give anything away, and we got tons of goodies...

Here's a pic of me and a couple of my friends from last Halloween. I can't believe how much we've all changed, just from one year. Ashley was a gypsy, maybe? I was a prep (I know, I know - how original...) And my old roommate, Carmen, was the devil....I'm not even going to say anything about that one...

This is me and one of my best guy friends here at Lee, Josh. He also happens to be Daniel's roommate. I think he was going for the "homeless guy" look:

So I haven't really figured out for sure what I'm going to be, which is sort of bad because I really only have a few hours to decide. But looking at my closet, I think my best bet right now is to be like a secretary/business woman. I don't know...

Thanks to all of you who gave me ideas for a birthday present for Daniel! I loved them all. Right now I think I'm leaning towards like a framed picture of us (is this cheesy or good?) and maybe like a new shirt or something. I think I'm also going to write a long list of all the things I love about him and print it out and make it look all nice. Haha, I hate that this is so hard to do! Anyway, I'm still wide open for suggestions...

And big news - I voted yesterday for the first time! I sent in my absentee ballot back to VA and I felt very official and important. Lol

Friends and Fun

I am so excited right now. I was talking to Beth yesterday and we were both saying we felt a little homesick and we needed some sort of pick-me-up. So Beth, being the best friend that she is, is coming to TN to visit this weekend! I really can't wait. Daniel and Beth have met briefly when he came to VA this summer, but I'm also really excited for them to get to know each other a little better. Whenever Beth and I get together, it's constant laughing at anything and everything. I've tried to warn Daniel, but I don't think he really understands that he's never fully seen this side of me. Haha...

Ok, now let me tell you why I am the best girlfriend in the world.

Dan's birthday is the 10th, so it's 2 weekends from now. And I am going to throw him a surprise party! I talked to his brother about it, and he says he doesn't think he's ever had one before, so I'm very excited! I love doing this kind of thing and I think Daniel is going to love it. I think it's going to be Indiana Jones theme (it's his fav., haha) and invite all of our friends to his apartment. Now I just have to figure out how to get him away for a while and get everything together. Yay!

I'm also at a bit of a loss for what to get him as a gift. He told me I don't have to get him anything, but of course I want to. He's so picky about stuff he buys that I'm sort of afraid to pick something, and I really don't want to just give a gift certificate. Help! I need ideas...Any suggestions??

Now let's talk about something crazy- I have pretty much one month of school left, with Thanksgiving Break thrown in there. I can't believe it's going by so fast. I'm excited about it, but a little stressed at the same time. This is always the hardest part of the semester. But I'm REALLY looking forward to the holidays this year! ♥
